Note: Essential medicines consumption data reported by Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands and Norfolk Island to the INCB has been combined with Australia's consumption data. The population of each Island has also been added to Australia's population.

The graphs below provide the Essential Controlled Medicines consumption data trends from 1985 to 2020 in milligrams per capita and Morphine Equivalence (ME) milligrams per capita, as reported to the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB).
